 | | | The Football Association said that they wanted something ‘really different’ in order to publicise England’s first team efforts of reaching the Euro 2000 finals in Belgium and the Netherlands. | | | The brochure was based on an oversized season ticket that contained information about not only the England squad but the other 15 competing nations and the stadia where the games would be played.
The pages were perforated so they could be torn out and sent ‘back home’ as postcards. A sticker sheet was also added so that children could ask players for their autograph’s at training sessions.
If nothing else, the brochure went down a storm with the first team players. Alan Shearer allegedly stole nine copies and rumour has it that Kevin Keegan loved it - LOVED IT! |
